Pre-learning: Blood Gas Interpretation 2016

Identifying Mixed Acid Base Disorders

No-one (that I know of) denies that interpreting blood gases is a tricky business. It can easily send one's head into a spin. In this pre-learning course we put aside the complex physiology relating to acid base balance in the body and focus instead on three key variables in the blood gas result. These variables enable us to rapidly identify the presence of an acid base disorder and to diagnose the type of acid base disorder. The course aims to provide insight into recognising and diagnosing both single and mixed acid base disorders.
