Seriously Ill Patient (EMET) 2016

EMET Pre-learning: Seriously Ill Patient

Recognising and managing the seriously ill patient is perhaps one of the most challenging aspects to working in rural health. In this workshop we will explore the approach to the critically ill patient through the lens of recent clinical cases that have been managed in the local region. In this pre-learning we will examine the three most critical areas of care in the seriously ill: airway, breathing, and circulation, with the aim of reviewing the clinical findings that provide the clues to life-threatening illness and discuss the immediate emergency management for each of these life threats.
