ALS Facilitator Workshop
Training and Re-certification of ALS Instructors
The ALS Facilitator Workshop is a combined online/skills workshop program developed to train and re-certify ALS instructors. The workshop provides the opportunity for facilitators to achieve confidence and demonstrate competency in teaching the core skills of ALS, and become familiar with simulation and skill assessment. Satisfactory completion of a LearnEM or ARC ALS 2 course within the preceding 12 months is a prerequisite for attending the ALS Facilitators Course.
Planning and delivering an ALS workshop
Understanding adult learners
Approaches to the delivery of workshop teaching pre-learning/post-learning resources
Strategies for managing the problematic candidate
Planning and delivery of procedural skills stations
Running a clinical simulation – role, planning, delivery and feedback
Participant assessment/certification of skills
Course evaluation and self-reflection
The course is delivered in a supportive learning environment, using interactive online pre-learning to cover core knowledge skills and a one day workshop for procedural skills and simulation training.
All participants wishing to undertake the ALS Facilitator Training Day are required to satisfactorily complete the ALS2 workshop delivered the day before unless exempted from this requirement.
There are only two exemptions for the ALS2 workshop that will be considered. These are :
Completion of an ARC ALS2 or LearnEM ALS2 course within 12 months of the set date of the Facilitator workshop (March 27, 202) or
Evidence that the participant is a currently (LearnEM) accredited ALS Facilitator at the time of the set date for the Facilitator workshop
To obtain an exemption (and access the discounted cost for Facilitator training of $495) you need to provide written evidence (ie a Course Certificate) that you meet one of the above criteria to the ALS Program Manager, Nikki Murray : email@example.com. Please note if you do not meet either one of the above you are required to satisfactorily complete both workshops to become an accredited ALS Facilitator.

- Thursday 26 November (ALS2) + Friday 27 November 2020 (ALS Facilitator)
Course Cost: $990.00 (incl. GST). Registration includes ALS 2 Workshop + ALS Facilitator Training Day, Course eLearning and Skills and Simulation Training.
Please note : LearnEM will not individually invoice SA Health units. All participants are required to register using the above link.
