Advanced Life Support 1: Core

Basic and Advanced Life Support Training

 

The ALS 1 core course is designed for medical and nursing staff to be accredited in the core skills required for Basic and Advanced Life Support. The course is delivered in a supportive learning environment and uses interactive online pre-learning to cover core knowledge skills in conjunction with a one day workshop for procedural skills and simulation training.

The course is suited to medical officers and nurses new to ALS, and for senior nurses who wish to upskill and challenge themselves.

Topics covered in the program include include:

  • Basic Life Support: Basic Airway Management, Bag and Mask ventilation, Cardiac Compression, Attaching and using an AED

  • Advanced Life Support: ALS algorithm, Recognition of Arrest Rhythms, Procedure for Defibrillation, ALS drugs

  • Post-Resuscitation Management


Course Dates for 2022

  • Please note there will be no ALS1 courses conducted in 2022
