ECG Diagnosis and Emergency Management of Cardiac Arrhythmias
Latest Course update: January 2017
This course continues exploring the clinical approach, ECG diagnosis and acute management of the patient presenting with a cardiac arrhythmia. This second part of the course introduces the clinical approach and ECG diagnosis of patients presenting with three classes of arrhythmias: irregular tachycardia, broad complex tachycardia and bradycardia. The course will specifically review:
-
ECG features and differential diagnosis of irregular tachycardia, broad complex tachycardia and bradycardia
-
Recognition of "Red Flag" arrhythmias at high risk for rapid/sudden deterioration
-
Emergency management of rapid atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia and complete heart block
-
Indications, contraindications and adverse effects of common anti-arrhythmic agents
