ASUM Accredited Focused Echocardiography in Life Support Training
The FELS course explores the use of echocardiography and ultrasound of the inferior vena cava for the assessment in the patient with shock and in cardiac arrest. The workshop focuses on the application of ultrasound to examination of the IVC and the Heart, recognition of ultrasound anatomy and pathophysiology.
The course is delivered using blended model of training that provides online prelearning to cover core knowledge together with a hands-on workshop to teach procedural skills and simulation with the aim of building confidence with scanning technique, image optimisation and recognition of pathology.

Imaging of the Inferior Vena Cava (IVC)

Using Ultrasound to identify Cardiac Tamponade, Cardiogenic Shock, Massive Pulmonary Embolism, Sepsis and Hypovolaemia
PLEASE NOTE : The workshop assumes prior ultrasound knowledge and attendance of a previous ultrasound courses such as the POCUS - Core Emergency or Core Primary Care.
