The first priority is to search for factors indicating a serious underlying cause and at the same time provide relief to the patient for the symptoms of headache.
In this module we explore the clinical approach the acute headache and focus on identifying the Red Flags that indicate a significant risk for serious disease and a need to investigate the patient. We also consider the most effective approach to the pharmacological management of the patient who presents with severe migraine headache.
